Commitment to Innovation
Our commitment to innovation and quality has guided us from the start. As the industry evolved, so did we—adding new product lines, embracing the latest technologies, and continually improving our processes to better serve our customers. Today, ESCO is proud to be a trusted partner for contractors, electricians, plumbers, and homeowners alike.
Key Milestones:
- 1949: Lowell and Lucille Shaum founded ESCO as an electrical wholesaler, the business began to grow in the contractor, industrial, and MH/RV markets.
- 1964: In need of more space, ESCO moved to the empty Riblets Manufacturing building which is behind our present location.
- 1982: Lowell Shaum, Chairman of the Board, died following an extended illness. It was a great loss to the company, but those that worked under Lowell learned well. Many of his ideas, his business philosophy and management policies, proved strong and are carried on by his sons: Gary Shaum, (Far Right) President of Shaum Electric Company, Inc., and Lewis "Lewy" Shaum, (Far Left) President of Elkhart Supply Corporation.
- Lucile Shaum retires but remained active within the business as a Consultant and Board of Directors Member until her passing in 2008.
- 1986:AI Manufacturing is established. A 12,000 square foot facility to produce custom designed wire harnesses, as well as injection and insert molding.
- 2000s: Introduction of new product lines, including advanced PEX plumbing systems.
- 2010s: Significant growth in residential and commercial product offerings.
- Today: Serving a diverse customer base with a comprehensive range of products.
